CAGE-FREE TRACKER
Towards a Cage-Free Future: Monitoring Progress in Latin America
ADVANCING CAGE-FREE
In recent years, dozens of companies in Latin America have committed to eliminating cages in egg production. This brings us closer to a cage-free future, but it’s just the beginning. Companies must be held accountable as they transition, and the Cage-Free Tracker aims to monitor their progress and demand transparency.
WHY CAGE-FREE?
Although battery cages have been banned in several countries due to their cruelty and the public health risks they pose, 90% of the world’s egg-laying hens are still kept in cages. In Latin America, there are 610 million egg-laying hens, 87% of which are caged.

Time to act
Join us in demanding accountability from these companies. Call for transparency and progress to create a cage-free future by 2025.
There are 83 companies that have set 2025 as their deadline for full cage-free implementation, but 45 of these have not reported or provided specific data on Latin America
*Orange Flags are Tier C in the report, and Red Flags Tier D.
